A Special Year Ahead

The year 2026 marks a very special milestone for Abbeyfield:
70 years since the foundation of the first Abbeyfield society in 1956, inspired by the vision of Richard Carr-Gomm to create communities where older people could live with companionship, dignity, and belonging.

From those beginnings, Abbeyfield has grown into a truly international movement, united by a shared commitment to supporting older people through connection, care, and community.
